A simple and meaningful way to support our mission and work is with a financial contribution. With your help, we can serve even more Detroiters with our comprehensive housing, clean & safe, and small business services.
JEI funds Clean Ambassadors to provide an enhanced level of care to public spaces along east Jefferson Avenue, the lower portion of the Dennis Archer, Jr. Greenway, and key eastern gateways at Alter & Jefferson, and Alter & Kercheval.
Clean Ambassadors provide litter management services 3x weekly to more than 15 miles of sidewalks. They maintain more than 155 pedestrian trash cans, remove unsightly graffiti, decals, flyers, paint, posters and stickers from public spaces.
Our Ambassadors provide hospitality services to residents, visitors, shoppers and business owners; Interacting by providing directions, restaurant recommendations, and even umbrella escorts when it’s raining. They also regularly check-in with area businesses.
Clean Ambassadors also provide motor vehicle assistance including changing a flat tire, jumping a dead battery, or helping drivers who have locked their keys in the car. Lastly, our Ambassors provide additional eyes on the street to boost public safety and help JEI identify issues before they become a problem.
