October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month! JEI's Domestic Violence Advocates are here to help

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month ðŸ’œ

Jefferson East, Inc. supports survivors of intimate partner and domestic violence abuse. In partnership with Wayne State University/Urban Advocacy Corps and the Detroit Police Department (5th and 7th Precincts), we offer assistance to those in need of help and safety.

"Intimate partner violence is a concern across the city. The JEI Domestic Violence (DV) advocates serve in the police precincts as a resource for residents. DV advocates assist residents - male and female- who have had violent encounters with their partners. Assistance comes in the form of referrals to legal services, safety plan designs, and personal protection orders." - Krystal Fields, Director - Clean & Safe Programs, Jefferson East, Inc.
