Detroit Homeowner Property Tax Exemption (HOPE) Informational Session

  • Online Via Zoom https://bit.ly/4hLoto5 (map)

Attention Detroit Homeowners: Challenged with Property Taxes? We Can Help!

Are you a Detroit homeowner facing challenges with past-due property taxes? Have you applied for the City’s HOPE Property Tax Exemption program but were denied? Do you have concerns about the property tax assessment you received from the City Assessor’s Office?

The Homeowners Property Tax Exemption (HOPE) program can provide relief by exempting eligible homeowners from this year’s property taxes and offering financial assistance for past-due balances.

Join us for a free virtual session to learn how you can take action! Hear from Stephanie Latos of the University of Detroit Mercy Housing Law Clinic and the Coalition for Property Tax Justice, who have launched the 2025 Tax Appeal Project. This initiative helps homeowners determine if they are being overtaxed and provides support in appealing property tax assessments.

🔹 When: Wednesday, February 12th - 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
