East Jefferson Development Corporation (EJDevCo)

East Jefferson Development Corporation (EJDevCo) is a for-profit wholly-owned subsidiary of Jefferson East, Inc. (JEI) that engages in real estate development activities to expand sources of revenue and capital to support and further JEI’s charitable activities. EJDevCo has a pipeline of more than 208 mixed-income housing units, over 50,000 sf of commercial space at more than an estimated $120MM in development costs.

EJDevCo builds on several years of real estate pre-development support from JEI, formerly Jefferson East Business Association (JEBA), dating back to the organization’s role in helping to get River Bend Plaza Shopping Center developed in 1994. JEI also assisted with the pre-development of Chalmers Square in Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood of Detroit providing 60+ units of mixed-income housing and approximately 6,000 sf of retail that was incubated by JEI.
