💧Detroit! Are you affected by flooding? There is help for you!

If you or someone you know are experiencing damages and losses from flooding, you may be able to get reimbursement by filing a claim with @detroitwatersewerage (DSWD). Those claims may also be filed with FEMA if a presidential declaration of disaster is issued.

We encourage you to begin the process of filling out a claim form as soon as possible (link in bio). You may also call 2-1-1 or (313) 267-8000 for assistance.

Losses should be documented with photos of the flood damage and receipts related to cleaning and repairs.
🛑 Under state law residents have 45 days to file a claim with DWSD. Deadline is August 10th.

TRASH PICK UP

Please place flood-damaged items at the curb for pickup. You will not be ticketed or charged for pickup.

FEMA Disaster Relief

Historically, FEMA has been the primary source of reimbursement in major floods. If you fill out the DWSD claim form, the city will contact you with FEMA claim information if the President declares a major disaster.

Any residents who have hazardous standing water in their homes should also alert @DetroitWaterDep at (313)267-8000 or https://detroitmi.gov/waterdamageclaims.
