💜 Join us! Learn about our Domestic Violence Advocacy programs & resources!

As incidents of domestic and intimate partner violence increased during the pandemic, our partnership with the Center for Urban Studies at Wayne State University allowed us to support more than 500 victims/survivors in the community. Formed in 2013, this strategic partnership was created to provide preventative and protective services for survivors in the East Jefferson community.

Our program places Domestic Violence Advocates in Detroit's 5th and 7th Precincts to support survivors with critical services such as:

  • Sharing information about rights, options and the dynamics of domestic and intimate partner relationships

  • Petitioning and filing Person Protection Orders (PPOs) and assist with process serving

  • Developing personalized safety plans

  • Increase access to criminal justice and social services resources

  • Assist in the navigation of police complaint processes

Join us Wednesday, June 30 at 11 a.m. for a conversation via Facebook livestream,
as we discuss our partnership, the support provided to Detroiters during the pandemic, how the community can help victims/survivors and more. You'll also meet advocates from the Center for Urban Studies.

Those who wish to tune in to the livestream can do so here.
