JEI / MSHDA NEP Clean-Up Kit Distribution in Jefferson- Chalmers!
As recipients of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP) grant, JEI has not only been able to assist homeowners with critical home repairs, we have also been able to help residents affected by flooding with recovery clean-up kits.
Enjoy this photo blog of our "Clean-Up Kit Distribution Event" which took place recently in the Jefferson-Chalmers neighborhood.
Approximately 70 clean-up kits containing key essentials such as gloves, cleansers, trash bags and brushes were distributed. JEI also provided housing resource packets containing helpful information relating to our programs & services and other key resources available to residents.
This event was a success and we're grateful for the opportunity to help residents to stay safely in their homes ❤️
Special thanks to our Housing & Neighborhood Services Team (Michelle Lee, Rebecca Nikodem, Jacqueline Richmond & Karolynn Faulkner) and Krystal Fields, our Director of Clean and Safe Programs for their amazing work on this event!
Thanks also to Ms. Mary Lloyd of Southeast Michigan Long-Term Recovery Organization (SEMLTRO), the Seventh Day Adventist Disaster Service for assembling and providing the kits, and Wayne State University AmeriCorps Urban Safety Project (AmUS) team for providing volunteers to assist us.
