At the 2017 Detroit Community Development Awards, Jefferson East Inc. was presented with the CDC/Nonprofit Developer Organization of the Year award.

JEI was selected to receive the CDC/Nonprofit Developer Organization of the Year award for working tirelessly to improve the lives of all residents in the five neighborhoods it serves.

Today, JEI is driving development in beloved Detroit neighborhoods by working with its longtime partner Shelborne Development on transforming three historic apartment buildings that will bring a total of 199 residential units to the east Jefferson corridor once completed. JEI is also bringing new amenities to the east Jefferson corridor and is looking forward to welcoming two new minority-owned restaurants, Norma G’s Caribbean Cuisine and Alma Kitchen, to the corridor, which will together create 45 job opportunities.

The JEI team is honored to have been recognized by Community Development Advocates of Detroit, Detroit LISC, and Michigan Community Resources for the real estate revitalization work that is underway in the east Jefferson corridor and is looking forward to sharing future updates on the progress of real estate development projects.
